Job overview

Teacher of  Maths or Science or English (suitable for NQT/MPS/UPS)

Closing date: Monday 25 January 2021

Interviews: Thursday 28 January 2021

We are looking to appoint up two colleagues from Maths, English and Science and because we have staffing flexibility within our 3 core department teams appointing the right candidate is more important to us than the subject taught.  We welcome different levels of experience. Staff  are highly valued at our school and we offer an excellent CPD package.

Each of the core departments is unique but their real strength is their commitment to working collaboratively towards the common goal.  Each subject’s curriculum intent is well thought out across the age groups and meticulously planned. Regardless of the subject specialism the successful candidate is guaranteed to work in a strong cohesive team.

Rightly so, expectations are really high at our school. Staff work ethic and commitment is immense and this is highly valued.  We maintain these standards by all working together and supporting one another.  It is really simple. Our culture and ethos across all areas of the school is based around two simple beliefs  Strong Work Ethic and Kindness and Decency at every level.  We trust each other and we work hard.

We do not take recruitment lightly.  Choosing a teacher to be responsible for so many student outcomes is taken very seriously and not ever done for the sake of filling a gap. It is really equally important to us that the right candidate chooses our school because they believe in what we are trying to achieve and the way in which we do this.  The job is never done and every year we have different students arriving all with their unique personalities, aspirations and desires. We celebrate this and do whatever it takes to make sure they have the best possible memories of school but also the right academic profile.

The school is deceptively accessible within the Yorkshire and Humberside area.  We benefit from lovely surroundings and we are located right next door to New College Doncaster where a significant number of our students progress to post-16 education.

If you are interested in applying please complete an application form which can be found in TES vacancies section together with  further information.  You are very welcome to visit the school before you apply and find out if you think you would fit in.

Please contact HR Manager, Paula Kynman, 01302 770579, pky@thehayfieldschool.co.uk.

We look forward to receiving your application.

The Hayfield School reserves the right to close the advertisement early.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and an Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.  We aim for diversity within our workforce.

Our aim as a school is to provide our students with a wide range of academic, creative and sporting opportunities which will enable them to develop into well rounded individuals who achieve academic success as well as the personal attributes required for the challenges of the 21st century.

School Ethos and Values

We are unashamedly traditional in the values we hold most dear: a strong work ethic; kindness; decency. These values are central to our culture and ethos, and professionals work hard to instil these simple values into our young people in order to prepare them for adulthood and the world of work. Our aim is to create confident individuals, life-long learners and responsible citizens who move to the next stage in their life having:

  • Fulfilled their academic potential
  • Developed essential personal skills and attributes
  • Grown resilience to face down challenges and setbacks

Our Curriculum Intent

We are really proud of our very carefully planned curriculum and believe that it goes over and above the statutory National Curriculum requirements.  We constantly reflect and review subject content and the GCSE offer taking into consideration how we can best prepare students both academically and personally for our ever-changing world.  It is vitally important to us that students have a broad experience and enjoy all their subjects experiencing rich opportunities to explore and develop their personalities.  Visit our website to find out more.
