The Role

Required for September 2018, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Mathematics teacher with drive and imagination to join our College, taking a lead in raising standards across the Mathematics faculty.

Our School

Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College is a vibrant comprehensive, co-educational school for 11-16 year olds determined to do our very best for the families in our community. It is an exciting time to join Broadoak as our journey towards being brilliant is well underway.

With decisive leadership, a great team, comprehensive plans to maximise all students’ abilities and a moral commitment to work tirelessly for all the young people in our care, students remain front and centre in all that we do.

The college is very popular with excellent community links and excellent extra-curricular provision.

The Mathematics Faculty

An exciting opportunity to join a young and innovative team at a time of change and opportunity.   Currently consisting of 7 full time members of teaching staff and a dedicated HLTA we strive to get the best results for our students. The department consists of the Head of Faculty, a 2nd in department and a KS3 coordinator as well as a Teach First student and an NQT. This shows some of the development opportunities for an experienced member of staff to practice managing and leading the professional development of others, and that the department has the support networks to help develop those who are new to the profession.

We are currently investigating the best approaches for delivering Maths in a comprehensive setting and will be drawing on researched best practice to inform our future direction. This will be an opportunity to really shape and impact the development of Maths teaching from curriculum to assessment.

We currently follow the EDEXCEL exam board for GCSE, but there may be future opportunities to teach the further maths specification and GCSE statistics.

What we're looking for

Do you care passionately about raising aspirations for all young people? Are you committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning? Do you strive for excellence, want to develop your own practice and try new things? If so, this is the place for you!

Appointment is subject to suitable references and enhanced DBS check.
