Job overview

Due to an improved job opportunity, a vacancy has opened for a mathematics teacher in our school. We are looking for a candidate who is looking to make a positive name for themselves. Their main priority will be to take on a grade 3/4 border group of 16 students. There are no behaviour issues with the class, they are committed and all want to do well. In January we will have a structured program that will help you deliver good lessons and results for all of your students. If this prospect excites you be sure to apply for the post. Oulder Hill Community School is a very successful school and one of the largest in Rochdale. All at the school are committed to achieving the highest academic and social standards for students and to the well-being and continuous professional development of all staff.  The school was graded as ‘good’ in all categories by Ofsted in October 2012 and has significantly improved since then. The school achieved 67% 9-4 and 45% 9-5 in Maths this Summer.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a full-time, enthusiastic, well-qualified Teacher of Mathematics to an excellent department at an exciting time in the school’s development. The successful candidate would be joining a strong, hard-working team which is committed to achieving excellence and in which a creative approach to teaching and learning in Mathematics is strongly encouraged.

The post is suitable for teachers at all stages of their career and the school is fully committed to supporting staff with CPD including NQT programmes.

About Oulder Hill Community School and Language College

Located in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Oulder Hill Community School is a co-educational secondary school. With around 1200 pupils aged 11-16, Oulder Hill is noticeably larger than the average school of its type, and covers a large and diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in its student intake. The school merged with another local secondary school, specialising in children with learning disabilities, in 2003. This coincided with a significant redevelopment and modernisation of the school site, meaning that Oulder Hill can now boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities. Although Oulder Hill had previously has a sixth form, this was closed in 2010.
