Teacher of Mathematics with Key Stage Responsibility

MPS/UPS + TLR (an enhanced TLR is available for an exceptional candidate)

“Pupils are polite and show respect to each other as they calmly move around the school site”

“Leaders have a strong moral purpose to match the curriculum to the pupil.” Ofsted January 2018

If you are seeking a life in the country with easy access to Oxford, London and Birmingham, The Warriner School is the ideal location for you. We are situated in the North Oxfordshire village of Bloxham, only a five minute drive from the historic market town of Banbury.

We also benefit from a 120 acre working farm which is utilised for teaching purposes across the whole range of subjects.  This is also the platform for our sixth form students to prepare for careers in the veterinary field with past students being offered university places based on this alone.

As part of the Warriner Multi Academy Trust we offer excellent opportunities for career progression and CPD. We have a very supportive ethos and as such our community looks out for each other, both staff and students.  Student behaviour across the school is very good and students are encouraged to reach their full potential by our dedicated staff.

The Warriner School enjoys a good reputation locally, with dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students. Staff have high expectations for all students and work enthusiastically to continue raising attainment and achievement.

If you would like to visit the school to see us in action we would be very happy to accommodate you.

As a consistently oversubscribed, expanding school we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, effective, professional and ambitious teacher to join our team of 10 specialists in September 2019. This will include responsibility for a Key Stage, which can be negotiated to suit experience.

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of success in the classroom and should have the aspiration and potential to lead a Mathematics department in the future.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach across all key stages and to take an active role, both in furthering the development of the whole department and promoting Maths across their Key Stage. They will drive the development of the teaching and learning agenda, working with data to identify underperforming students and then leading targeted improvements.  They will have responsibility for implementing curriculum changes, and further creatively developing our schemes of work as required. They may also take the lead in mentoring trainee teachers within the department.

The successful candidate will be working in a department that has a strong reputation for success and for its supportive ethos and is committed to continually raising standards. The department has excellent facilities; each teaching room is equipped with projectors, whiteboards and visualisers, and students are encouraged to use the host of concrete and pictorial resources to support their learning.  The department makes full use of our farm as a learning resource.

We are looking for a team member who will inspire students in our school to achieve their full potential. In turn the post provides opportunities for curriculum and professional development in an environment where staff are highly valued, well supported and teachers enjoy working.

A job description and application form is available from our website: https://www.thewarrinerschool.co.uk/vacancies or Mrs Trish Morgan, PA to Headteacher at recruitment.4007@warriner.oxon.sch.uk

Please note we can only accept CVs as supporting documentation when submitted along with a fully completed school application form.

The Warriner School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment.  The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Closing Date: Monday 20th May at 1pm

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 22nd May
