Job overview

The Royal School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Mathematics teacher to join our maths department in our heavily oversubscribed day and boarding free school. The aptitude and willingness to teach a range of abilities from ages 11-18 is essential.

The mathematics department is at an important stage in securing the highest standards of learning and teaching for children in the school community. The department has a central suite of rooms and is rapidly gaining momentum in the use of interactive software and the department is keen to enhance its use of IT at all levels. The school has entered a significant building programme where all areas of this well-established school will be brought up to the very highest standards over the next 2 years. The department is eager to improve the standards and ‘passion’ of mathematics for all students and aims to develop mathematical reasoning and problem solving whilst still developing the fundamental skills students need. In KS3 pupils are taught in mixed attainment groups and set from year 9 onwards, regular pupil tracking assists with such decisions. We currently teach GCSE from year 9, spreading the demands of the new specification over three years, offering the best opportunity for students to fully master all topics.

Are you the person to stretch, challenge, support and inspire our students in and outside of the classroom?
