We seek to appoint an ambitious, passionate and dedicated Teacher of mathematics. The ideal candidate for this vacancy will be highly motivated and committed to delivering engaging and inspiring mathematics lessons.
We welcome applications from those who are just about to embark on their career and who thrive in a supportive and ambitious environment, as well as from more experienced colleagues who feel they have that something extra to offer, such as an extensive track record in teaching to A-level.
The mathematics department enjoy first class teaching facilities, with each classroom being equipped with an interactive whiteboard and visualiser. Each mathematics classroom is connected to a fantastic lead lesson space. This large space is used for small breakout intervention groups but also has the capacity to teach multiple groups, enabling team teaching. Collaboration is a big focus within the department and the successful applicant will benefit from sharing and contributing to a large bank of excellent resources. All schemes of work are developed collaboratively within the department and are shared in centralised electronic folders. Fortnightly department time is often allocated to team planning and ‘lesson studies’, where teachers partner up to plan, deliver and observe a lesson to different groups with a particular teaching and learning focus.
The mathematics department has celebrated fantastic progress since the opening of the Academy. We are completely committed to excellence and aspire to be the leading department within the academy. We are dedicated to offering students a positive and enriching experience in mathematics through a challenging and inspiring curriculum. The department strives to provide diagnostic marking and feedback which has a clear impact and presents opportunities for students to make immediate improvements.
The mathematics department is well supported by the school and this allows for extra mathematics interventions to take place for year 11 students. Students are targeted for morning intervention sessions and also for after school support and this has contributed to our strong GCSE results. The department also benefit greatly from being part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), which among other advantages, reduces teacher workload and provides more robust and reliable assessment data.
We are now seeking to augment this fantastic team with an equally skilful and committed colleague.
