Job overview

Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.

Are you a Teacher of Maths or Business who has an interest in teaching across the other discipline? This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher with a desire to expand their teaching for mastery in Mathematics. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential but you do not have to have a degree in maths. Our KS3 curriculum focuses on Teaching for Understanding (Mastery) and ensures we focus on depth of understanding rather than acceleration, meaning that our students get a true understanding of Maths at their level before moving on.

You will engage with our Business departments ethos which promotes innovation, enthusiasm and a team approach. The successful candidate will be a committed, energetic and inspiring individual with the vision to develop and promote good practice.

Our Executive Director, Kathryn Greenhalgh leads the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub and is keen to appoint someone who is ambitious for professional development either in the classroom or across our Family of Schools. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals.

The Outwood Grange Family of Schools offers:

• The opportunity to work and progress across the Family of Schools.

• The chance to apply for leadership roles in the Deeps working across the whole Academy.

• The support and expertise of our Directors of Maths working across the Family of Schools.

• External outreach through the work of the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub.

• A full and detailed programme of support and development for NQTs.

• A further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through the Outwood Institute of Education (formerly the teaching school).

To apply, please visit: www.outwood.com > Vacancies.

Closing date: Midday on 3 June 2019.

Interview date: 7 June 2019.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

About The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)

Interim Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

The Outwood Grange Academies Trust was born out of the success of Outwood Grange: a large school with 2,200 students, which has achieved record results for the last decade.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, we have transformed education and outcomes across a network of 40 primary and secondary academies. Working closely together and sharing best practice, our schools do whatever it takes to ensure that every child, irrespective of starting point, can realise his or her full potential and unique talents.

Whether you’re joining us as a support staff member, an ECT, in a leadership position, and everything in between, we will invest in you and your development throughout your career.

By all working together, supporting and motivating each other, we believe we can raise current standards, and transform the lives of our students. If, as a Trust, we support you to help you reach your potential, we can help ensure all the children you teach will also reach theirs.
