About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2023, our Progress 8 score of +1.40*, showing that on average each student scored almost one and a half grades higher than they would have if they studied in an average school. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 50% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. Wembley High is also be welcoming pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Maths Department

We are looking for a teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department and teach maths across key stages 3, 4 and 5. At GCSE, pupils study the Edexcel maths specification with many pupils completing their GCSE in Year 9 or 10 and then going on to study qualifications such as Additional Maths and GCSE Further Maths. This provides a stepping stone for A Level maths, which over 100 pupils choose to study each year. Due to the success and popularity of the subject, many of our pupils go on to study maths related courses at university. As a top performing department within the school and country, pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels; in 2023, 96% of pupils achieved grades 9 – 4 in Maths GCSE with 52% awarded grades 9 – 7. At A Level, 60% of pupils achieved A*- B grades in Maths and 93% in Further Maths and our value added has been in the top 1% of the country for many years now.

*Please note that these figures differ from those which will be published the DfE website. This is because our students take several of their examinations early, achieving the highest grades possible in subjects such as Maths, English Literature, Geography, Spanish and RS in Years 9 and 10, before going on to more challenging courses in Year 11.

Due to the pandemic, the Year 11 headline figures reported by the Department for Education (+1.13) do not include the results which our students achieved during 2021 and are therefore differ from our figures above. Our statistics above show what our students actually achieved by the end of Year 11.
