Teacher of Maths
Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK.
With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.
Rossendale is a school catering for the needs of pupils who display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and whose learning disability may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder. All pupils have a draft or final Education, Health and Carer Plan
The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Keystages 2, 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Keystage 5 have a specislist sixth form building based in the local community. At Keystage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications. We are currently wanting to expand A level courses at the sixth form provision. Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results. The school admits boys and girls on both daily and residential placements.
The post is required to meet the demands of our growing sixth form and the need to deliver more Maths in Keystages 4 and 5. The successful candidate will work under the direction of one of our Assistant Deputy Headteachers and be involved in the development of the Maths department as we deliver the new curriculum and examination courses.
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that pupils’ special educational needs are being addressed, having due regard for the School's philosophy and policies. The post holder will be expected to meet individual needs and ensure that all pupils achieve their academic potential.
Rossendale School has an excellent staff team who are enthusiastic and supportive. If you have experience of working with young people in a school setting, are flexible, imaginative and enthusiastic we would be pleased to hear from you. Experience of working in a specialist school is not essential as the school runs its own extensive training programme.
Rossendale School was judged to be 'Outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted.
Any candidates shortlisted will be invited to attend a informal Interiew day on 13 November and if successful at this stage, a formal interview on 14 November.
