Are you a driven, innovative and organized classroom teacher looking to join a dedicated and successful Mathematics department? The department has recently achieved outstanding results for the new specification GCSE. In 2015 and 2016 it was ranked in the top percentile in terms of progress nationally. At KS3, we are establishing a personalised assessment system to give effective timely feedback to students, and developing the use of technology in the classroom through the use of chromebooks. Our KS4 cohorts have benefitted from our forward-thinking approach towards adapting to the new GCSE curriculum with an engaging, challenging scheme of work. At KS5, WA offers IB Maths courses to students on its vocational and academic programmes, including the prestigious IB Higher Level Maths course. The Mathematics department prides itself in its co-operative and collegiate approach to teaching, learning and assessment, and consistently delivers the best education for all our students.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to student success and development. Experience of planning and delivering GCSE lessons is essential, as the job will involve working closely with the Director of Learning, Maths to continue developing our existing provision, as well as continue to plan for the new GCSEs for the 2018 cohort. The willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities is also essential. Most importantly, there is a real opportunity to contribute to a team that is making a difference.
