Job overview
The Mathematics Department at Wellfield consistently performs above local and national expectations. We have a very strong team which has been developing Maths Mastery (Singapore Maths) for the last two years and we are a member of the Ark Partnership.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic teachers to work within our Maths department. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious person who combines excellent teaching skills, an enthusiasm for the subject and an ability to inspire and motivate pupils. If you have the potential to become an outstanding teacher and the desire to inspire a love for your subject then we would like to hear from you. This post would be ideal for an NQT or recently qualified teacher.
Wellfield was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in March 2014.
An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
The school is committed to the professional development of all colleagues and holds the Investor in People Status.
Durham County Council is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We want to develop a more diverse workforce and we positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. Applicants with disabilities will be invited for interview if the essential job criteria are met. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service).
Informal visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact the Head’s PA, Mrs L Willis to arrange this. Application packs are available via the school website www.wellfieldschool.net or from (l.willis@wellfieldschool.net). Completed forms should be returned to the school.
Closing date for applications: Tuesday 28th February 2017
