About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified specialist graduate teacher who can teach mathematics throughout Key Stages 3 & 4. In addition, we will look to you to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.

You will be able to excite and challenge learners to make rapid progress and will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising learners’ individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice. 

About the Education Service

The three island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne’s School in Alderney work in a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.

The drivers in secondary phase education for this collaborative approach are quality of educational experience and outcomes, equality of opportunity and access, and efficient and effective use of resources.

Employed by the States of Guernsey and be based at La Mare de Carteret High School, you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives, which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.

This post carries an eight-year employment permit. If appointed, you can expect to:
