The British International School Tbilisi seeks applications from enthusiastic, hard working and talented teachers looking to develop their teaching career in an international setting.

This is an exciting time for the British International School of Tbilisi as we move into our first year of the IGCSE programme.  We require an ambitious and dynamic person to lead and coordinate maths for  KS3/KS4. BIST follows the Cambridge and IMYC curricula. 

BIST is a member of COBIS, and is working towards becoming an accredited member in 2018.

Tbilisi is a bustling, cosmopolitan city full of historical interest.  Life for teachers is enjoyable with a relatively low cost of living and a sufficiently good infrastructure, shops, cafes and restaurants to lead a European lifestyle.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status / PGCE or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in the British Education system either in the UK or in British international schools or equivalent
  • Experience or qualifications relating to maths at IGCSE level
  • Satisfactory police / DBS (formerly CRB) checks
  • Ability to teach ICT, Economics, Business Studies or Computer Science at IGCSE level

Desirable

  • 2 Years of experience teaching at secondary school
  • Experience teaching at IGCSE level

Our Primary Curriculum (Years 1-6) follows the International Primary Curriculum and the English National Curriculum. Classteachers are supported by specialist teachers in some subject areas such Art, Music and PE and each class has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.
BIST follows the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level programmes at Key Stages 4 and 5. Our wide range of subjects are all taught by specialists in their field.
