Our ethos of ‘Ensuring Excellence’ is at the forefront of everything that we do. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and dedicated teacher who will support our subject leaders/Directors of Learning in raising standards of teaching and learning across the science department and other learning areas across the schools.

The overarching purpose of the Lead Practitioners is to raise standards and develop teaching and learning, ensuring that the aims of the Community Academies Trust are effectively translated into high quality classroom practice both within the subject and in general. The Lead Practitioners are a team of driven and ambitious teachers who work collaboratively to drive up standards and develop themselves professionally through the extensive CPD opportunities afforded to them.

The successful candidate must have:

  • The ability to teach Maths up to KS4,
  • The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a developing team,
  • A passion for their subject that drives them to help pupils achieve their very best.

We will offer you:

  • An extensive CPD programme to nurture and develop your talents at all levels,
  • A professional, hard-working and supportive team that works together to create a welcoming, vibrant learning culture inclusive to all,
  • Access to a network of successful schools to share best practice and develop career prospects at the highest level.

Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks and a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the standards which flows from Community Academies Trust vision and values. Due to the current COVID 19 outbreak we are adding supplementary measures to our safeguarding protocols. As such, a third reference is required, and all references will be taken up prior to interview.

The role is covered by part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

We are busily planning ahead for the forthcoming year and are excited about welcoming new staff to come and join us. In place of academy based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try to accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.

Whilst we would usually welcome you to visit our school, the current situation means it is not possible for you to do so. However, if you would like someone to talk to you via phone or video link, please do not hesitate to contact Penny Jolley via email. She will put you in contact with the most relevant member of staff to provide with the information you require.

CLOSING DATE: 9.00am Wednesday, 27th January 2021. Interviews: W/C  1st  February 2021.

Head’s Foreword

Welcome to Telford Park School, where a commitment to excellence in education is at the core of everything we do. As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a school that prioritises delivering a high-quality, well-rounded education that not only supports academic success but also prepares our students for life beyond the classroom.

At Telford Park, our carefully crafted, knowledge-rich curriculum is both engaging and challenging, offering a wide variety of subjects to meet the diverse interests and strengths of our students. We aim to inspire curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning, ensuring that each student gains the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities they need to excel in their future endeavours.

We also recognise the importance of preparing students for the world of work, which is why we offer a comprehensive careers programme. This includes opportunities for work experience, career guidance, and support in making informed decisions about further education and career paths. Our goal is to help every student achieve their ambitions.

A positive and respectful environment is essential for student success, and our behaviour expectations reflect this. We set high standards and provide clear guidance to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where all students can thrive. Our core values—being prepared, showing respect, and challenging oneself—are key to both academic and personal development.

Equally important is our commitment to student well-being. We provide strong pastoral care, recognising that a student’s emotional health is fundamental to their overall success. Our pastoral team works closely with students and families to ensure that every individual feels supported, valued, and heard, fostering resilience and personal growth.

We understand the vital role of regular attendance in student success. By working closely with families, we promote good attendance habits, recognising that every school day is an opportunity for learning, development, and building connections within our community.

As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we regularly reflect on our practices and make changes to enhance the educational experience for our students. This includes updating our curriculum, investing in resources, and providing professional development for staff to ensure we are always progressing and creating the best learning environment.

We are also committed to building strong partnerships with local businesses and organisations. These relationships provide our students with real-world experiences, insights into various career paths, and a deeper understanding of their role in society. Such connections help prepare our students to become engaged, responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities.

Whether you are a prospective parent, a member of our school community, or a visitor, I invite you to explore our website to learn more about what makes Telford Park School a place where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Thank you for visiting our website. I look forward to working together to ensure Telford Park School remains a place of learning, growth, and success for all.

Best regards,

Ms A. Huntington
