“To empower through Maths" is at the heart of Mathematics at The UCL Academy. We are a collaborative, supportive and successful department who aim to ensure our students are confident and resilient, fluent in all the essential skills, able to reason effectively so they can describe why things happen and able to problem solve and apply their mathematics to real-world applications. In both 2015 and 2016 we delivered strong sets of results and have had successes in the UKMT Maths Challenges, with certificates at Gold, Silver and Bronze across all year groups. We benefit from lectures in maths and maths related subjects through the UCL Lecture Series and give our students the opportunity to take part in external master classes, workshops, lectures and competitions.
