Teacher of Maths

Northampton School for GirlsNorthamptonshire

At NSG, we are looking to over-recruit in maths as we look ahead to the next few years when some of our valued colleagues in the department will be retiring and setting off on new adventures. This is an opportunity to grow and develop our maths team and we are looking for people who share our vision, who will enthuse our students about maths, show them the beauty and relevance of it, and build their confidence in maths and a sense of agency to use their knowledge and skills in further study or in their lives beyond school.

You will be a teacher who inspires and motivates our students, who maintains high standards and delivers the curriculum imaginatively and with purpose. You will be focused on providing our students with the best opportunity to immerse themselves enjoyably in a STEM subject. You will recognise the role of maths in empowering young people, equipping them with the means to analyse and critique the world around them. You are passionate about conveying an appreciation of maths and its role historically and in today’s society.

The maths team at NSG are a friendly, welcoming bunch and we encourage you to contact us for an informal chat to find out more. We are looking forward to welcoming new faces to our team.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is an Ofsted Outstanding, state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. Our school community is multi-faith and multi-cultural, with students coming from rural and urban settings. We seek to be one of the best schools in Northamptonshire, and this is reflected in the high standards and expectations we set for both staff and students.

At NSG, you will have access to an outstanding CPD programme, which will enable you to continue to develop and grow as both an excellent teacher and leader. In return, we expect that you will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to provide high-quality teaching; you will be a like-minded individual who will promote our ethos of respect and inclusion for all.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students. We are working to create an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and are empowered to do their best.
