Job overview

The Suthers School is an 11-18 academy which welcomed its first cohort of students in September. We are now seeking to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics to assist the development of an outstanding Maths department and contribute to the wider ambitions of the school.  We will consider both full and part time applications.

By striking a balance between challenge and support and by ranking character education alongside academic preparation, The Suthers School seeks to provide the very best foundation for all its students, no matter what their starting point. If you too are driven by the desire to give every child the ambition to succeed and equip them with the skills they need to take their place as the leaders of tomorrow, then we would love to hear from you.

Above all, we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic teacher of Maths and this post would suit either an NQT or experienced practitoner. The successful candidate will not only have the opportunity to help build a new department with support available from our wider trust but will also help shape the development of this brand new school. For a suitably qualified candidate there will be the opportunity to take on the role of Lead Teacher for Maths (TLR2b).

As an employer we offer an enhanced benefit package to all staff that includes help with healthcare and a fully-funded MA programme for all teaching staff. We can also offer help with relocation in certain circumstances.

The online application form for this role is located on the current vacancies page of the school website: http://www.suthersschool.co.uk. Your supporting statement should outline:

· Why your career experiences to date equip you for the post;

· The impact you have made in your current role;

· Your vision for what great Maths teaching looks like

It is anticipated that interviews will take place on Friday 20 October 2017. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of the closing date, please assume that unfortunately, on this occasion, your application has not been successful.
