Outwood Academy Valley, as part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust is right at the forefront of maths education, both in terms of ensuring students are taught maths for deep understanding, and in enabling every students to leave school with a maths qualification that opens doors for them. We have a curriculum that allows for this and the training and support for teachers to feel confident to facilitate this for all.
We are able to offer a teacher post of mathematics out of Outwood Academy Valley, this includes a position for those with a desire to be post 16 specialists: we are very excited about increasing the participation of students in Post 16 mathematics, and we also offer the Level 3 Core Maths qualification.
This post is full-time and a permanent contract but we would also consider requests for part-time working. Recruitment and retention allowances may be available to exceptional candidates. There are many opportunities within the trust to develop quickly both within the maths leadership and senior leadership areas for those who are keen to develop their leadership skills.
As a nationally renowned, system trust, we also lead the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub, and would welcome applications from teachers who are excited about improving outcomes not only within our trust but also across the region. We will be supporting schools and colleges across Yorkshire for the foreseeable future around the new A level specifications and Level 3 core maths initiative.
We have a great training package for NQTs and teachers new to the academy including: Teaching for Mastery; Open Classroom events; Maths Matters; TSST; Reasoning at KS3; weekly professional development time and further programmes free through the Outwood Institute of Education. Outwood Academy Valley, Worksop, North Nottinghamshire lies in close proximity to Nottingham, Sheffield and Doncaster situated on the A57 with links to the A1, M1 and A60.
