Job overview

We are looking to appoint an excellent practitioner to teach Maths part time up to GCSE.

Sancton Wood is a small, family friendly school with pupils aged 1-16 years. Recognised for its outstanding contribution to the social and emotional development of each individual child.

The school is now embarking on an ambitious five-year plan, which will see its profile, raised within the Cambridge landscape of independent education and which will significantly develop provision. Key elements of that plan are the improvement and development of facilities, and the enrichment of both the curricular and extra-curricular provision. In September 2016 we have introduced more subject choices for GCSE, more sports and teams, more clubs and extra-curricular options and more friends to welcome to the Sancton family.

Sancton Wood is part of the Minerva Group of Schools and is very well supported through the groups “Inspiring Learning” Programme which has the professional development of staff as one of its key objectives.

If you are passionate about teaching Mathematics and being a part of this influential department, we would like to hear from you.

Please submit a completed application form via the TES online application

Sancton Wood is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Sancton Wood is a co-educational, independent school in the heart of Cambridge.  Spread across three sites, all within walking distance of each other, the railway station and the city centre itself.  We provide an outstanding learning journey for students aged 9 months to 16 years.

We believe that exceptional pastoral care; those values of nurture, kindness, patience and love make for happy children; place those children in small classes with outstanding teachers and the results will be remarkable.

Our foundation of outstanding pastoral care leads to incredible academic success, as is proven year after year with our GCSE results. 95%-100% of our latest cohorts achieved 5 or more 4-9 grades and half of all our grades were at the top level.

Wrapping around this is a thriving Enrichment programme with over 100 separate opportunities for students to supplement their classroom experience with offerings in Languages, The Arts, STEM, Humanities and beyond.

We have a busy programme of trips, the school takes sport very seriously and we offer a full range of fixtures, clubs and sports tours for the students.
