The Barlow RC High School is an excellent place to work! We are a leading Catholic High School judged by OFSTED as Good in all areas with elements of outstanding. Our school is a very successful 11-16 High School with 900 pupils on roll situated in Didsbury (often voted as one of the most popular places to live in Manchester). We have a strong record of achievement at the school and have recently benefited from £11.2 million Building Schools for the Future investment. 

You will predominately be based in the Maths faculty however you will also spend some of your time in the PE faculty who are both committed to sustaining and improving results and are continually striving to improve the provision for Mathematics/PE at all key stages. You will be required to teach across all ability sets and year groups up to and including GCSE level and will make a key contribution to driving up standards and attainment and support with extra-curricular activities and clubs. 

You should:

  • Have a “Good” or better record from observations in the classroom
  • Have the adaptability to hit the ground running
  • Possess the ability to inspire, challenge and motivate pupils
  • Play an active role within the school and the wider community
  • Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative
  • Possess a proven track record in achieving excellent pupil outcomes
