We seek to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a forward looking and innovative Maths Curriculum Area.  This post offers scope to teach across the ability range at key stages three and four and would be suitable for NQTs. 

The Maths Curriculum Area is very strong, with high quality teaching and learning at the forefront of our ethos.  This is a very exciting time to join our team, as we are embedding a new style of approach to the teaching of Maths.  This is rapidly accelerating the progress of our students and will move the outcomes forward to build on existing success.  ‘A high proportion of students now leave this school having made excellent progress in English, mathematics and science’ Ofsted (Jan 2013). 

Successful candidates will need to be:

  • Vibrant and motivating classroom practitioners who will bring the subject alive for our students;
  • Able to deliver consistently good and outstanding lessons that ensure the progress of all students, regardless of their ability;
  • Confident in their subject knowledge;
  • Team players;
  • Role models of the school’s ethos.

Winterhill School is a large, fully inclusive 11 to 16 secondary school serving a rich and diverse local community.  We are a National Support School with a reputation for innovation and the pursuit of excellence.  Winterhill was judged to be ‘Good with Outstanding leadership and management’ by Ofsted (Jan 2013).  We are located within five minutes of J34 (Meadowhall) and J35 of the M1.  Winterhill School converted to academy status on the 01 February 2016 as the founder of Leaders in Learning Multi Academy Trust.
