High Storrs is a very successful high-performing comprehensive school and have recently become a member of the of the Minerva Multi-Academy Trust. In November 2013 the school was graded good by Ofsted with Outstanding for the Sixth Form and student behaviour. Having completed a major refurbishment of our Grade II listed building as part of the BSF programme, we are excited about the future, building upon proven success. We are an ambitious and over-subscribed multicultural learning community with high expectations and high aspirations. In the 2017 GCSE results, we had the best scores for 5+ in both Maths and English for all the state-funded schools in Sheffield, with the Maths results being 83% achieving level 4-9, 70% 5-9 and 14% grade 9’s (31 students).
The Maths department requires a fulltime teacher, starting in September 2018. You would be expected to teach Years 7 to 13, have knowledge of the new 9-1 GCSE curriculum and experience of teaching A level Maths.
You will join an outstanding Maths team in this vibrant curriculum area, work very closely with an excellent department to achieve the best possible outcomes and ensure to give the best learning experience for our students. The post is suitable for an NQT looking to begin their career in a well organised department, or for an established teacher who wishes to extend their experience in this excellent 11-18 specialist school.
