Are you passionate about providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for every child? We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Lady Elizabeth School and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

Key Tasks:

  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils in the class, adhering to statutory guidelines and reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • Learning Opportunities: Provide engaging and effective learning opportunities tailored to meet the needs of each child, using LES’ Language of Learning to enhance their educational experience.
  • Registration and Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of attendance, punctuality, progress, and welfare of pupils, including the marking and maintenance of registers and other relevant systems.
  • Standards and Example: Uphold standards of uniform, appearance, behavior, and manners, setting a positive example for pupils to follow.
  • Pastoral Matters: Take initial responsibility for pastoral matters concerning pupils in the class, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate support.
  • Planning and Collaboration: Plan learning activities in line with the curriculum, collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency and coverage.
  • Expectations and Environment: Set appropriate yet challenging expectations for pupils’ learning, behavior, and presentation of work, maintaining a stimulating and positive classroom environment.
  • Homework and Assessment: Set meaningful homework tasks, mark class-work and homework promptly, and maintain records of pupil progress and assessments.
  • Support and Communication: Direct teaching assistants or students effectively, communicate with colleagues, parents, and relevant stakeholders, and distribute information promptly.
  • Reports and Meetings: Prepare school reports, attend parents’ meetings, staff meetings, and assemblies, and contribute to school-wide communication channels.
  • Procedures and Professional Development: Ensure pupils’ knowledge of school procedures, participate in professional development opportunities, and take responsibility for personal wellbeing and growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching and managing a classroom environment effectively.

Located in Jávea, Spain, The Lady Elizabeth School is a co-educational international school. First established in 1987, the school provides a British-style education for over 1000 boarding and day pupils. The school has a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, including brand new purpose-built building opened in 2018, and playing host to numerous modern classrooms, a fully equipped library, swimming pools and theatre. Younger students follow the International Primary Curriculum, widely used by a huge number of global international schools, and providing specially-designed subjects designed to be relevant and engaging for young international students.

For students in the Secondary school, the British curriculum is supported by optional Spanish elements, culminating in GCSE examinations. Sixth Form students are offered a large number of A-level subjects, and are well-supported in their subject choices and in terms of their options after leaving school, be it in Higher Education or Employment.

The driving force of the decisions we make with our young learners are based on equipping them with the skills to thrive in the future. Equally we successfully support those who seek a more vocational path with apprentice degrees and work placement programs. Our students are equally likely to leave us to study Law at top European institutions as they are to set up thriving business locally and internationally.

Many of the careers that our learners will go on follow have yet to be created in an ever changing global economy.
