An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a full-time Teacher to join our Digital Multimedia team at the Joseph Wright Centre. The department offers vocationally based qualifications at level 2 and 3. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is ready to deliver an outstanding experience to our students. You will need to have teaching experience in Digital Multimedia or an industry related area and be a forward thinking and innovative teacher with students at the heart of your work.

Competencies/Responsibilities:

  • Experience in designing and delivering remote lessons via Teams or other remote applications.
  • Practical expertise that encompasses how digital media products such as digital and virtual photography, animated motion graphics, 3D digital modelling, VR graphics for social media, interactive web/app prototyping, digital branding and graphic design are used.
  • Well versed in how to design, create and test a range of these products.
  • Fully confident with Adobe Creative cloud’s suite of products, you must be able to demonstrate these skills through highly effective planning, outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Harnessing the powerful input of employers, enrichment and pastoral elements so that all of our students can reap the benefits of this stimulating industry.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • UI/UX
  • Digital Graphic Design
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe XD
  • Blender
  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Level 2 Maths & English

Desirable:

  • Experience in digital photography and photography studio set-up
  • Adobe Lightroom
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Branding/social media marketing

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
