Job overview

Your Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding and motivated Teacher of Media, who is able to inspire our youngsters and engender a love of learning.

Media has always been a popular and successful subject at Rosebery School and we are one of the few schools offering the subject to all year groups from Year 7 to 13.  In Years 7 and 8 it is offered as a short module giving our younger students a taster of Media studies topics and skills. We then offer a 3-year programme for GCSE allowing more time for practical work, establishing the key principles of the subject early on before teaching the set texts. At GCSE and A level, students follow the Eduqas Media Studies syllabus and many of our students go on to study Media related courses at university.

The school has invested in the Media department with a suite of new PCs and industry standard software, there is also technical support available to the Media teachers in delivering practical lessons if needed.

We have a vibrant extra-curricular programme including a Film Club, BBC Young Reporter Club and Secret Cinema Club.   In the past we have organised day trips to Sky Studios and are looking to expand on the variety of trips offered.

This role is suitable for an experienced Media Studies teacher who is seeking a new challenge or an NQT looking to kickstart their Media teaching career. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Media Studies to a high standard and have a strong classroom presence.
