The Ferrers School was judged by Ofsted in February 2015 to be a ‘Good’ school in all areas. We are a popular over-subscribed school and are looking for teachers who can work with us so we can continually improve and so move from ‘good to great’.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher or NQT to join a successful and established team in an exciting development phase. The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player, willing to lead by example, with the drive, energy, passion and understanding of the strategies required to motivate and inspire students. Students and staff enjoy the high quality of leadership and support offered by a team of experienced and energetic colleagues in a faculty which achieves excellent results.

We wish to appoint an inspiring and creative teacher with an understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively, excellent interpersonal skills and a strategic vision for the development of MFL teaching. You will be expected to teach the full age and ability range, up to and including A level. We are fully committed to the professional development of all our staff.

The Ferrers School is a mainstream secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, and there are just under 1,000 pupils on its roll.

We care passionately about our staff, their well-being and their professional development and this is reflected in the fact that we are an enthusiastic team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice.  We are seeking ambitious candidates who are keen to develop further and, as such, are committed to providing excellent CPD for the development of staff.  We are striving for the very best for our students and we are focussed on and passionate about learning.

This is an exciting time to be joining  the the school.  We have secured improving  outcomes over the last 3 years which were validated in our recent Ofsted report (July 2021) where The Ferrers School was found to be Good in all areas. These five areas are: ‘The Quality of Education’, ‘Behaviour and Attitudes’, ‘Personal Development’, ‘Leadership and Management’, and ‘Sixth Form Provision’.
