Our people are at the heart of our success. Outwood Grange Academies Trust is at the forefront of education and training; we are part of the School-Led Development Trust that will lead the new National Institute of Teaching. Being part of the Trust therefore means that all staff have access to excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, and with scope to build a career across a range of schools.

In MFL there is a dedicated team of Directors who invest in staff with support, coaching, mentoring, and a wide range of top-quality subject specific training programmes to ensure that quality teaching and learning leads to outstanding outcomes for all students.

Our MFL teams across the Trust achieve excellent results for our students. Our Trust average MFL scores for 2022 are well above national average with progress at +0.01, grade 4+ 83.5% and grade 5+ 74.2%.

Outwood Academy Haydock is a 11-16 academy based in the former mining village of Haydock, within the large Merseyside town of St. Helens. We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022 and as a member of the Outwood Family we believe in putting Students First, raising standards and transforming lives.

We believe that learning should be both enjoyable and enriching. With a holistic view of education, we aim to create a safe and secure learning community that encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyles and empowers students to pursue career pathways they will find stimulating and deeply rewarding.

Our MFL Department offers French and Spanish therefore successful applicants are required to be able to teach either French, Spanish (or both!) to GCSE. We welcome applications from ECT teachers or experienced professionals, both full or part time. We are looking for individuals who love their subject, have a passion to develop this in others, and are committed to putting Students First.

As a Trust, we are always planning ahead and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us who share our vision of “Students First, Raising Standards and Transforming Lives”.

Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage. We are really keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible, so if you would like a conversation either about the academy or the position, please email Lynda Giles on l.giles@haydock.outwood.com who will be happy to assist.
