Moor End Academy is a fantastic place to work! Our curriculum is driven by creativity; we believe that students learn best when they enjoy their lessons. At Key Stage 3, students are taught either French or German, with the expectation that they will take this language to GCSE. As a subject we work hard to produce engaging, exciting lessons that will give our students the best possible chances for the future. We believe that there should be a purpose to learning; students should feel that they are doing something real and meaningful, with the aim of developing successful learners, confident individuals and global citizens.
The Academy is accredited by the Edward de Bono Foundation as an official Centre for Creative and Critical Thinking and these skills are at the centre of our teaching. Students enjoy MFL and they respond positively to our imaginative and stimulating approach. It is a great opportunity for you to come in with some creative, imaginative ideas to build on our current success. Outstanding departments are not static, and we are always looking to evolve; meaningfully contributing to curriculum design is the role of every student and member of the team. If students have not enjoyed and been motivated by a topic, then following student feedback changes are made to the curriculum. Learning outside the classroom is a big focus of MFL and annual trips to France and Germany (in both Key Stages) provide an ideal opportunity for our students to put their language expertise into practice!
As a teacher of MFL, a range of opportunities for personal and professional development will be open to you. You will be responsible for delivering quality learning both inside and outside the classroom. In addition you will be involved in some of our numerous enrichment activities. You will have high standards and will provide opportunities for students to extend their enjoyment of MFL in what is now a core subject at the Academy.
Moor End Academy is a fantastic place to work and MFL plays a crucial role in this. If you are a vibrant, hardworking, successful and creative individual who is not afraid to take risks, this is a very exciting opportunity and we’d love to hear from you!
