Teacher of MFL.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Northamptonshire. The school is looking to add a Teacher of MFL (Specialising in Spanish with some French) to its progressive and supportive Department ideally starting ASAP.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of MFL Spanish up to KS5 and French at KS3-KS4.  You will support the Head of MFL to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

"This is a mixed secondary school, catering for children between the ages of 11 and 18 years and located in Wellingborough.  Since September 2013 they have been part of a Trust, this has enabled the school to rigorously pursue rapid improvement for the children they teach. They started life as a Technical Grammar School, before becoming a community school and then a foundation school. It converted to academy status in September 2013.

This post is new to the structure in order to meet the demand for a very popular subject additionally, this new role will also build the capacity needed to respond to student feedback.

Their unique Knowledge Connected approach teaches students to analyse and understand their curriculum of study through the application of six key concepts, encouraging them to identify and solve problems in practical and creative ways that give them a sense that they can have an impact on the world around them."

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A relevant MFL (Spanish/French) Degree or a related subject

• Experience in delivering MFL (French and Spanish) up to ideally A-level pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• A love and passion for education.
