Job overview

Contract type: Part Time, 0.4-0.7, negotiable

Salary: MPS/UPS

Contract term: Permanent

Suitable for NQTs: Yes

Due to our PAN increase, we are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly effective linguist with French and/or Spanish as their main language, to support the Learning Area by developing pedagogy and fostering a love of languages across the Academy. The TLR role (if applicable) will be determined according to the individual strengths of the appointed candidate.

MFL is a core subject since September 2021 and French and Spanish are taught throughout the 11 - 18 age range and at all levels and ability. KS3 has a varied and engaging curriculum which gives both breadth and depth opportunities. At key stage 4 and 5, we follow the AQA specification. We offer a collaborative department with experienced teachers and exceptional FLAs, keen to bring authenticity to the learning environment.

The successful candidate will be a team player, who will instil a passion for MFL through high quality learning and teaching and have proven success in teaching and learning at Key Stages 3, 4 and possibly 5, ideally in both French and Spanish -but just one of the two is also OK. The school offers a bespoke CPD programme, research and development, links and networks with other outstanding schools as well as a plethora of extra-curricular and cross-curricular working opportunities.

The school sees the form tutor as a key role in the support, development and welfare of the students and teachers are expected to undertake this role with the same standards and commitment as their subject role.

Why come to Hinchingbrooke?

This is a fantastic school to work in: on interview, we ask candidates for their impressions of the School and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the positive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the School is.

We also offer:

An excellent programme of teacher CPD

Free on-site parking and free membership of our on-site leisure facility

Plenty of career opportunities for ambitious teachers - we are a large school in a forward-looking Multi-Academy Trust

If you are an outstanding teacher, it really is worth applying for this post and joining somewhere special. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is passionate about their subject area; a team player who will thrive on collaboration and teamwork. Someone who really wants to make a difference!

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Closing date:  Monday 12 June 2023

Please submit applications and covering letter to: jobs@hbk.acesmat.uk

For enquiries or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the Principal's PA on 01480 375675.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. We may also interview suitable applicants before the closing date. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
