Job overview
Our MFL department is supportive, passionate and a rewarding place to build a career. We are seeking a specialist Languages Teacher with the ability to teach Spanish up to KS5 and to offer a second language at KS3. Most important is a passion for teaching the subject, and the knowledge and personal qualities to inspire our students.
We encourage applications from NQTs looking to secure a role after training and we can provide outstanding induction and support from our strong team of Lead Practitioners and our well established training programmes.
Myton is a very popular, high performing school with academy status, situated between Warwick and Leamington Spa. In our recent Ofsted report we were rated as Good with Outstanding features, including our Outstanding 6th Form. We are delighted that Spanish, German and French are all running as part of our sixth form delivery, with seventeen students studying languages in Year 12.
We offer a wide range of languages and opportunities to all students. Modern Foreign Languages are thriving at KS5 and at KS4 thanks to the quality of the department and the prominent role MFL has in the curriculum. At KS4 nearly 70% of students opt for one or more of the 5 languages we offer at GCSE (French, German, Spanish, Mandarin and Italian).
As a happy and purposeful community, we offer students an exciting curriculum and a huge range of extra-curricular opportunities within a safe, secure and supportive environment. With enduring values of care and mutual respect we support hard-working staff as well as students and families.
We are committed to excellent CPD opportunities which reflect our emphasis on training, support and career development and we see this as a key element in enabling our staff to achieve their goals and ambitions.
