Required for September 2021, a well-qualified and committed teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages department to teach French and/or Second Language.  This position would also suit an Early Career Teacher (formally known as NQT)

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is a school where students achieve well and are part of a strong, caring community. Our school’s ambition was recognised by Ofsted in May 2016 when it was stated that, “School leaders are ambitious.  They want the school to become outstanding and they are doing the right things to achieve this.”

Our Modern Languages Department consists of three full time members of staff, including one Assistant Head.  The MFL Department currently teaches French to KS5 but will be adding a Second Language in the next academic year for KS3 classes. The MFL Department runs residential trips to France annually for students in KS3 and KS4. The team is keen to further promote the uptake of languages at KS4 and KS5 level.

We are able to provide you with the necessary support and guidance as well as a range of professional development opportunities at this crucial stage in your career. If you feel, you have the drive and commitment to succeed in the role we would like to hear from you.

We are keen to appoint dedicated colleagues who are eager to support our students to achieve in all aspects of their school life and who want to be key contributors to our school’s success. We welcome applications from teachers at any stage of their careers, including ECTs.

In the current circumstance, we are unable to offer visits to the school.  We would encourage you to explore the school website www.bromfords.essex.sch.uk

Values and vision

The Bromfords School  key aim is to be a school where its pupils are happy; where they feel safe and able to express themselves; and where they can access a challenging and appropriate curriculum. Promoting positive role models and fostering individual and collective pride are viewed as important, playing a role in creating pupils who are confident learners, able and ready to conquer barriers to success.

Academic progress is regularly monitored, although success in this area is not the be all and end all to education at the school. A wide range of extra-curricular and sporting activities are on offer, reflecting a holistic approach to developing pupils’ abilities.

The school’s sixth form, which benefits from small classes, prides itself on offering students a bespoke curriculum. Its aim is to encourage its students not only to develop a lifelong love of learning but to become caring and active citizens in the local community.

Ofsted

“The governors and headteacher have a vision for the school which middle leaders and staff share. There is a clear culture of hard work and good behaviour throughout the school. Governors and leaders have a firm understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for further development.”
