About the role

St Ninian’s High School would like to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages who can confidently and competently teach French and Spanish at Key Stage 3 and GCSE Level. This maternity cover post is available as a one year fixed term appointment.

The role will provide you with an interesting and rewarding position within the framework of a strong and important area of the school, an ideal opportunity for an Early Careers Teacher or a more experienced Teacher seeking a fresh challenge.

You will have the desire to share and develop your own good practice, and contribute to the development of others.

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements; the Teachers Superannuation Scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.

If you are returning to the island and have participated in the Department’s Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the island’s schools (subject to a maximum of £7,500 for a three year degree course, or £10,000 for a four year degree course).

For those relocating or returning to the island you will receive a refund on your national insurance contributions during the first 12 months of your employment, up to £4,400.
