About Barlby High School Specialist Sports College

'Barlby High prides itself on being a very safe, nurturing school where you really matter as an individual' Simon Rinaldi, Head of House and English Teacher

We are an 11-16 years school that takes pride in knowing all our students as individuals and allowing them to flourish.  As a school, we believe we are small enough to care, and big enough to make a difference. We aim to ensure that all students feel safe, happy and settled in school.  We have a very strong pastoral care team that leads on this work. Our vision can be summed up with the words “Enjoy. Believe. Achieve.”  These key words underpin all the work done in the school daily.

'We encourage our students to develop a love for learning and achieve their potential' Claire Horsley, Assistant Faculty Leader and Drama Teacher

Following the Auschwitz, Poland visit we received lovely feedback from parent/carers such as 'She had a fantastic time in Poland. She found it really interesting and loved the whole experience.  School had obviously prepared her well for Auschwitz and she said the tour guide was brilliant so although a physically and emotionally demanding day she seems to have found it to be a very positive experience....Our child has undoubtedly made memories that will stay with her for many years' year 10 Parent.

Through our sports specialism we challenge everyone to be the best they can be.    We recognise every student is an individual at Barlby, with different needs and talents.  We are committed to ensuring that all learners develop and achieve their potential, preparing them to achieve future success on leaving school.

'We learn lots of things at Barlby High, my favourite subject is Sport and I enjoy rugby and football the most.  I've made lots of friends since coming to High School' Year 7 student
