Contract Term: To cover maternity leave in the first instance, with the possibility of extending the contract beyond that time.

Contract Type: Full Time

Start Date: Monday 3rd June, if available, or from September 2019

Fulbrook Middle School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and reliable Teacher of Music and Drama. Our Music Subject Leader is about to go on maternity leave; we are also looking to introduce drama as a discrete subject from September 2019. Having held Artsmark Gold in the past, we are currently on our next Artsmark journey.

The post would appeal to someone looking for a short-term contract, although there may be the possibility of extending it beyond March 2020. This post would also suit a Newly Qualified Teacher.

You will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status

• The ability to motivate pupils and achieve excellent results

• Excellent organisational and ICT skills

• The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team

Fulbrook is a very popular, high achieving four-form entry school for children aged 9-13 years, with an exciting strategic plan for the future: we have recently submitted a proposal to become an extended secondary school (9-16) from September 2020. Our current number on roll is 430.

Situated in a magnificent green field site, just within the county boundary of Bedfordshire, the school is close to the exciting and vibrant city of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. We are situated less than 2.5 miles from Junction 13 and approximately 4.5 miles from Junction 14 of the M1. By rail, from London Euston to Woburn Sands station - just a short walk from Fulbrook – the journey takes one hour.

We have excellent results for academic subjects, but we are equally proud of our accredited Values-based school status. We have adopted 12 values that encapsulate the spirit of our school; we encourage staff and pupils to live these values within and beyond Fulbrook.

As well as the Main Scale salary and Teachers’ Pension, we also offer a very popular cash back health insurance package, providing dental, optical, diagnostic consultations, scans and various therapies including physio, chiropractic and osteopathy.

We invite you to visit our school beforehand, when you will have the opportunity to tour the school and meet Mrs Samantha Clancy, our Head teacher.

Fulbrook is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children; this will be reflected throughout the recruitment process.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Fulbrook Middle School is committed to providing life changing opportunities and inspiration for all our children within a respectful and positive environment. Fulbrook is proud to have sports and maths as specialisms; we are also recognised for providing quality teacher training opportunities. We are the school of choice for the local and wider community.

Fulbrook Middle School is set in a magnificent greenfield site just within the county boundary of Bedfordshire close to the exciting and vibrant city of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

We are a Values Based school with outstanding results for academic subjects but feel that becoming a successful member of society is more than just gaining good exam results. We have adopted 12 main values that we feel encapsulate the spirit of our school and encourage the children to keep these values at the forefront of their mind and therefore make decisions and choices based on these standards of behaviour.

The school has a committed, well-trained, experienced and effective Governing Body which works in partnership with the Headteacher and senior management team in leading school improvement initiatives. Parents are very supportive of their children’s education and the school is also well-supported by the local community.

We run a comprehensive programme of clubs and activities above and beyond standard academic pursuits, covering interests as diverse as film and art; orchestra and choir; drama and even scooter and skateboarding!

Residential visits offer experiences and challenges which contribute significantly to children’s personal development. Therefore, we offer an opportunity for a residential visit to every pupil in every year group.
