Great Marlow School is a successful, highly regarded, and popular school. We are looking for a teacher with outstanding subject knowledge to join the Music Department in a full or part-time capacity, with a commitment to delivering creative and engaging lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Applications are welcomed from teachers new to the profession and those with experience who would like to further their career in this dynamic learning environment. There may be the opportunity to work part time for the successful candidate. Candidates should also be confident in using effective strategies to motivate ALL learners and in promoting the enjoyment of the subject across all year groups.

Under the inspiring leadership of our Head of Department, music at Great Marlow School is an increasingly popular GCSE and A Level option. (Eduqas specifications). The department engenders a good-humored and highly motivated atmosphere, with music-making at its core focus. There are 5 instrumental teaching rooms including a computer room (running Sibelius and Ableton). Currently we have a Head of Music, one full-time teacher/ one part-time Teacher of Music, and a music administrator. In addition, the school has visiting instrumental teachers for brass, drum kit, guitar, strings, vocal and woodwind lessons.

The department runs an extensive extra-curricular programme. At present, we have a Jazz Band, Wind Band, Wind, Septet, Show Choir, Lower School Choir, Piano Duets, Band Academy and Rock and Pop Bands.

Great Marlow School is a large co-educational secondary school located in the town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The school has around 1,300 students aged 11-19, with over 200 attending the sixth form.

Founded in 1961, the school converted to academy status in 2011 and in the last six years has invested £9 million in developing the school facilities including a state of the art sports centre, sixth form centre and performing arts accomodation. The Redgrave Sports Centre was named after former pupil and Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, he opened in the centre in May 2013.  The school and the sports centre are a 'hub' of the local community and host events and activities throughout the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
