Teacher of Music for Primary school

Evgeny Primakov Gymnasium, in cooperation with StudyLab School in Moscow, seek a teacher of Music for Primary school to start from the 20th of August 2018. Evgeny Primakov Gymnasium is an outstanding bilingual Gymnasium in Moscow of c.200 children (aged 3-6) in pre-school and c.600 students in the Primary, Secondary and High School departments. As a music teacher you will be responsible for teaching primary school pupils aged 6-10. The students speak English as their second language. Lessons need to be interactive and student-centered. The teacher should demonstrate excellent classroom management skills,  use games and activities in the classroom and regularly evaluate academic results. 

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Music or Bachelor degree in Education with a music focus 
• Master's or higher degree is desirable 
• EFL qualification TESOL/TEFL
• Play a variety of instruments 
• Excellent knowledge of music theory 
• 3+ years of teaching experience working in an international setting with non-native level speakers is essential

• Willing to make a minimum of 2 years commitment to the position 

Key tasks & responsibilities

• To teach music to primary school children (aged 6-10) 
• Help pupils to improve their musical knowledge and ability 
• Teach children how to learn instruments, familiarize pupils with music styles, develop improvisational and vocal skills 
• To instruct puplis about tempo, rhythm, pitch, scales 
• Arrange performance opportunitites for children 
• To conduct extracurricular activities both for primary & secondary students on a regular basis
• To encourage children to learn and appreciate music of all kinds 
• To evaluate and grade children's progress
• Select materials and/or any supplies for the classes
• Maintain positive, courteous relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues 
• To attend parent meetings and other school events
