Kelvinside Academy is an independent, HMC co-educational day school of some 600 pupils aged 3-18 in the west end of Glasgow.
We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Music to teach throughout the school curriculum including primary. An ability to teach a second subject, such as Drama, may be advantageous, and for the right candidate promoted pastoral responsibility may be available.
Music forms part of the Faculty of Expressive Arts. The Faculty team is led by a Head of Faculty and one Deputy Head of Faculty.
As a single-site, all-through school emphasis is placed upon achieving a smooth progression from Primary into Secondary. The Senior School Faculties work closely with the Junior School.
The post which is a full-time, permanent one, would suit either a new or an experienced teacher.
The school aims to bring out the best in every pupil, combining high standards of teaching and a superb extra-curricular programme within an inclusive and caring ethos. Sport, outdoor pursuits, music, drama and art flourish, together with a range of clubs and societies. There is strong participation in the Cadet Forces and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential.
The salary is based on the main national teachers’ scale and there is an additional KA allowance. Please contact the Rector’s PA (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further details and an application pack.
The post is tenable from 16 August 2018. A completed application form should be sent to the Rector, Mr I H Munro, by noon on Wednesday 21 February 2018.
