Job overview

An outstanding opportunity has arisen to work in Gloucestershire’s largest comprehensive school.

We are an established 11-18 single  academy trust with a good reputation (Ofsted ‘Good’ rating 2016), wide catchment, and a strong presence in our community. Our school is consistently oversubscribed with a PAN of 300, and most of our students choose to stay with us for their post-16 study.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Music to deliver our music curriculum at key stage 3, 4 and 5. Music is central to the life of our school and the successful candidate will be joining a highly successful and motivated team of teachers who not only secure excellent exam results, but also offer a rich array of concerts and performances to our school and local community across the academic year.

The successful candidate will be willing to be part of the department’s ambitious vision and contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme.

The department accommodation consists of three well-resourced teaching rooms, a recently renovated ICT suite, and 4 dedicated peripatetic teaching rooms. As a result of the high standards and opportunities offered by our music team, we regularly secure good numbers at GCSE and A Level via the OCR specification. Contrary to the direction of many schools, there is currently a vision to expand our music provision at key stage 5 in the coming years.

There is a wealth of information about our school on our website, along with an application form should you wish to apply.

We also ask for a supporting statement (maximum 2 sides of A4) outlining how you feel your experience, skills, and attributes would enable you to make a significant impact in the role.

Please email your application forms and supporting statements to hr@bournside.gloucs.sch.uk
