Wilmington Grammar School for boys is seeking to appoint an imaginative, dedicated and forward thinking Music Teacher. Our Music Department plays a special part in leading and promoting the overall ethos and vision of the school and it aims to be the forefront of its success. We deliver a broad curriculum which seeks to develop a love for music and a culture of public performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate who will be passionate about Music and how this can be taught in an inspiring way to maximise a love for the subject. We are looking for someone who can have a positive impact in teaching, learning and curriculum excellence. We are particularly keen to attract candidates who are early in their teaching careers and are looking to develop their craft and knowledge in a very supportive environment. 

Our ideal candidate will:

• A passion for Music and an understanding of how to enthuse others

• Some experience in teaching classroom Music at different Key Stages with a good curriculum knowledge and understanding of GCSE and A-Level Music requirements

• A willingness and determination to promote a love of Music beyond the classroom

• A willingness to contribute to the school’s diverse extra-curricular programme including concerts and school productions

Welcome to Wilmington Grammar School for Boys where we offer an  exceptional education for boys aged 11- 16 and an extensive post 16  programme which is co-educational for students in the sixth form.

Our aim is to produce well-rounded  individuals with a passion for learning and an enthusiasm for personal  development. Results are consistently of a high standard with the  majority of students going on to study in some of the most prestigious  universities, whilst a minority opt for the Higher Level Apprenticeship  programme as an alternative stepping stone to career success.
