Wyke is an established, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield. Wyke is looking to recruit a committed and inspiring teacher to teach our A-level Music course, skilled in engaging students and creating an environment conducive to achievement. The successful candidate will:

• Be keen to embrace our culture of high standards and a commitment to development

• Be a skilled teacher who delivers engaging lessons that draw the best performance from students

• Have the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues and understand the factors that lead to high levels of student achievement

• Teach on the A-level Music course and contribute to music enrichment including ensembles, performances, liaising with peripatetic staff and the College production

Applications from those who posses the qualities listed above but have not yet completed their teaching qualification and wish to do so in the 2021/22 academic year will also be considered.

The college has a very strong music department with students consistently having achieved excellent results in recent years. Teachers within the department support students with a range of extra-curricular activities which have helped contribute to the department’s strong outcomes and students’ commitment to the subject. Music performances by the college orchestra, choirs and ensembles are a valued and regular feature on the College calendar. The successful candidate will contribute to these performances which take place both at internal and prestigious external venues.
