We are looking for a Teacher of Music to join our staff team for September 2021. This an exciting, newly created position at our school. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and forward thinking practitioner to develop this role at our continuously improving school.

Salary: Main Scale/ Unqualified Teacher Scale (unqualified teachers may apply)

Contract Type: Full-Time

Accountable to: Leader of Creativity/ Deputy Head Teacher/ Head Teacher

Accountable for

  • Working with the Leader of Creativity to develop a music curriculum (voice and instrumental) for the school
  • Plan, teach and assess music lessons in all year groups across the school (including EYFS)
  • Raise the profile of music teaching and learning at Plaistow 
  • Be a model of best practice for music education, supporting other practitioners in developing their own teaching of the subject
  • Support and nurture the interests and talents of pupils by leading extra-curricular clubs
