Job overview
Arden is a truly exceptional school at the heart of the community and the peak of academic excellence. Situated just minutes of Junction 5 of the M42 and only 3 miles from the town of Solihull, visitors are astounded by our confident and articulate pupils. The warmth and trust between teachers and students is exemplary as is the constant drive to achieve maximum personal and academic potential.
In every way the Performing Arts Department mirrors the aims and beliefs of the school. All staff work hard, supported by a committed management team, to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning. Arden pupils love to acquire new knowledge and skills; our teachers relish the opportunity to deliver engaging, challenging lessons to committed pupils.
Music is taught through Years 7-9 and offered as an option at both GCSE and A Level. Additionally results at A Level are outstanding. With enormous pride we watch our students leave to study Music at some very prestigious institutions. There are a huge number of extra-curricular music opportunities available to students including Lower School Choir, Chamber Choir, String Orchestra, Wind Band, Sixth Form BATS, Jazz Band (Ardenaires). During July 2018 the annual school production of Grease will also be taking place. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to these areas bringing their own area of expertise. The ability to teach A Level Music is desirable but not essential.
Opportunities don’t arise very often to teach at a school like Arden and we are delighted to be offering the chance for someone to join the department as a maternity cover. If you would like to be considered for this post, we will need you to facilitate outstanding pupil outcomes across the whole age and ability range. The Academy provides CPD opportunities, childcare vouchers, pension and cycle to work scheme. Few other places offer the chance to simply teach motivated pupils devoted to learning.
Further details are available to download from either the TES website or our school website – www.ardenschool.org.uk. Alternatively you may contact Michele Bull to request details on 01564 773348. Application forms should be completed in full and attached to a letter of application. CVs will not be accepted. Please address all correspondence to Mr M Murphy, Principal. Please contact the school if you would like the opportunity to visit.
Arden Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
