Runnymede College are looking for a motivated teacher of Music who will have the ability to:

  • teach Junior and Middle School Music
  • register and organise the ABRSM instrumental exams, for which Runnymede is a Centre
  • coordinate peripatetic instrumental teachers for classes given in the school
  • rehearse Music for school assemblies, concerts and plays
  • organise school trips for the Music Department
  • lead the school choir

The successful applicant will have:

  • a good honours degree from a British University
  • a PGCE or equivalent qualification for teaching Music
  • recent experience as a teacher in a school in the UK
  • experience of teaching Music up to GCSE/IGCSE
  • previous experience of an international school is preferable but not essential
  • must be a fluent English speaker,  some knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage
  • working knowledge of common software
  • possess valid references and a DBS check

Runnymede College is a private school that provides a British education for English-speaking students of all nationalities who are resident in Madrid.

The aims of the School are:

  • To provide an all-round, academic, liberal humanist education to all students regardless of their sex, race, religion or nationality. There is no religious instruction.

Spaniards and those who are bilingual follow courses of language and culture prescribed by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
