We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our Music Department. The staff team consists of three full-time teachers, and the department is highly regarded within the school community.
Results at all stages to Advanced Higher Music are excellent. Students wishing to take their studies forward have been awarded places at respected Music Institutions.
The successful candidate will be a passionate, skilled and inspirational Teacher of Music keen to promote excellence within the Music Department. He/she will be a competent pianist and accompanist (good sight reading skills essential), highly organised, meticulous in their lesson planning and committed to encouraging and supporting pupils to set goals and achieve their ambitions. He/she will be expected to teach across all age ranges from Transitus (Primary 7) through to Advanced Higher in Senior School.
The post is aligned to the SNCT scales, reviewed in April each year and with a further St Columba’s enhancement. Fee restriction of 50 per cent is granted for the education of the children of members of the teaching staff after one year’s service.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the extra-curricular life of the School including participating in and leading choral and instrumental ensembles.
