The College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational, enthusiastic and innovative musician to teach music. This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong Music department in a leading school. An organist or an instrumental specialism would be advantageous but not essential. The role would particularly suit either an enthusiastic graduate looking to make a direct entry into teaching or an experienced teacher seeking an entry into the independent sector. The College provides statutory induction for NQTs and will assist graduate entrants to gain QT status through the funding of a PGCE by arrangement.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the wider life of the Department as well as to the extra-curricular and pastoral life of this busy boarding school.
The appointment will be made by the Head Master who will be assisted by members of the College’s Senior Management Team.
Applications should be made using the application form which is available from the College website www.lancingcollege.co.uk and returned to email@example.com Candidates are asked to add a covering letter setting out, as succinctly as possible, their reasons for applying for the position at Lancing.
Informal conversations about the post may be arranged with the Deputy Head, Dr John Herbert (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The closing date for applications is midday Thursday 25 April 2019 although applications may be reviewed on receipt.
Early applicants may be invited for interview before the closing date and the College reserves the right to make the appointment before the formal closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
Lancing College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
