St Mary’s is seeking to appoint a well-qualified Teacher of Music for September 2024. The post is for one year initially with the possibility of this becoming a permanent position from September 2025. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified Teacher of Music to GCSE and/or A Level. They will have a real enthusiasm for Music and the ability to communicate a love of music to their pupils. They must be able to work well within a team. They should be computer literate and be keen to make good use of ICT within lessons. We are seeking a person with vision, drive and sound judgement. Strong keyboard skills and a knowledge of Sibelius and GarageBand would be advantageous.

St Mary's School Ascot is a leading Roman Catholic girls' boarding school set in 55 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of Berkshire. We are a friendly, stable and caring community, proud of our academic and sporting achievements and dedicated to bringing out the full potential of each of our 390 pupils. There are 120 pupils in the sixth form. We are committed to full boarding, with spaces for a few day pupils living nearby. We offer a stimulating range of co-curricular activities which take place in the evenings and throughout the weekend.

St Mary’s has a strong reputation as an academic school within the Catholic tradition. Entry to the school is selective. All pupils are expected to take 9 or 10 GCSEs, and almost all stay on for the Sixth Form to pursue their A Levels. Our leavers invariably go on to higher education, the vast majority to Russell Group universities or similar, including 10-15% to Oxbridge.
