This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join our thriving PE department to support the development of the curriculum and teaching experience in lessons to ensure that all students achieve and progress in line with expectations.  Required from September 2024, we wish to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated teacher of PE with the ability to teach at both Key Stages 3 and 4. 

As Teacher of PE, the successful candidate will work to provide outstanding learning opportunities and instill a love of learning. This role has a TLR responsibility for a Head of Year role. In the first instance, this will be for the Year 7 cohort joining the school in September 2024. The school is oversubscribed and a full cohort of 180 students will be joining Longdendale in Year 7. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled practitioner to take on a pastoral leadership role in a supportive and innovative school, where behaviour and attitudes were judged to be good by Ofsted in January 2023, and where attendance is above the national average. We are seeking the right candidate to support the successful transition of the new cohort of students and to lead their personal and academic development over the next five years.

 

Longdendale High School is a popular comprehensive 11-16 academy set at the edge of the Peak District on the border of Tameside and Derbyshire. We have a current intake of 850 students with cohorts typically above the national average in terms of prior attainment.
