We are in the advanced planning stages of a New Castlebrae High School, which will open in August 2021. Our new building will transform learning and teaching experiences and provide innovative and inspirational spaces for our rapidly expanding community.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated dynamic inspirational PE teacher to play a key role in our diverse, innovative, creative and supportive Expressive Arts Faculty. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme

The advertised salary will increase by 3% on 1st April 2020

Partnership Working

Castlebrae as a school has won the Education Scotland Award for Employability and Creativity Across Learning. This was the culmination of a three year partnership with the Edinburgh International Festivals. Castlebrae was also recognised by the SQA with a Special Award for Social Enterprise. A senior young person was runner-up in the UK Future Chef competition held in London, while a group of young learners (working in partnership with Drake Music) have release their first single “Just Be You” and other learners are nearing completion of their very own skiff! The school has worked with a variety of partners to give children a variety of opportunities they would not otherwise receive.
