We are looking for an enthusiastic PE teacher ideally with the ability to teach a second subject.  Working within a strong and passionate PE department you will be willing to contribute to our extensive extra-curricular programme.

This post is fixed term until 31 August 2023, due to a temporary increase in workload.  The minimum contractual commitment required is 0.74fte, with the possibility of the contract being full time (1.0fte).

The successful candidate will:

• Be dedicated to the best possible outcomes for our students and the highest levels of professional practice and learning for themselves.

• Have an ability to inspire, motivate and engage our students.

• Be a committed, highly competent, reflective and resilient individual.

• Be excited about the opportunity to teach across the entire age range of our 11-18 college.

We offer:

• A supportive and professional team of colleagues.

• An excellent in-house programme of professional learning hubs run with and for colleagues across faculties.

• Bespoke induction and support programmes for newly qualified colleagues.

• Extensive links for professional development and learning across two teaching schools; the Dartmoor Teaching School Alliance and the South West Teaching Schools Alliance.

Applications from ECTs welcome.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

KEVICC is a great place to work and is unique in so many ways. We are a truly comprehensive college. Our students arrive to us with hugely varying learning experiences. They come from urban areas, market towns, villages and isolated hamlets. We teach right through from year 7 to year 13 (plus foundation Art and Design).  Working at KEVICC means dealing with all of this in its infinite variety- it provides an environment in which our practice is continually challenged and sharpened, and no two days, or even hours, are ever the same.

To excel in such a varied environment requires skill, the ability to reflect and learn, and above all an absolute commitment to every single one of our students. This is what our colleagues bring to the College, and it is these qualities that enable them to be the adults our young people thrive from.

We are situated in the beautiful South Hams town of Totnes, with incredible countryside, towns and villages around us. We have the natural wonders of the River Dart, South Devon beaches and Dartmoor on our doorstep, alongside excellent transport to London, Exeter, and Bristol via the A38/M5 and the mainline railway which is 200m from our school. It is an amazing place to live and work.

You will be joining a forward-thinking school that is excited by the opportunities collaboration brings with like-minded partners. We are excited to have just begun the process of joining Education South West a Trust of local primary and secondary schools that includes a nationally recognised teaching school hub at Kingsbridge.

King Edward VI Community College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A DBS certificate is required for this post.

Closing Date: 9am, 10 June 2022

Interviews: w/c 13 June 2022
